Meet the Sunnyvale Team Behind Vance Gate Repair Sunnyvale
We’ve got four people on the ground here in Sunnyvale, and between us we’ve probably seen every gate failure mode this side of the Caltrain tracks. What keeps us showing up is the same thing: we’d rather explain exactly what broke, show you the photo, and hand you a written price before we touch a wrench. No mystery, no performance. Just the work, documented.
Our People
Adrian Vance, Owner & Lead Technician
I started this in 2014 after ten years wiring commercial access-control systems for office parks down in San Jose. The habit stuck: every job gets a wiring diagram, every visit gets a photo log, and every customer gets the price in writing before I open my toolbox. I’m licensed and background-checked, and my name and photo go out before I arrive. I still take the calls myself at 2 a.m. when a swing gate won’t close and someone’s trying to get to SFO for a morning flight. The thing I notice most? A gate that “just started acting up” usually has six months of corrosion that says otherwise.
Marcus T., Senior Installer
Marcus came over from commercial fencing in 2019 and he’s the reason our gate installations in Sunnyvale don’t sag after the first rainy season. He knows the local soil composition, which matters more than people think: the clay-heavy pockets around Ponderosa Park shift differently than the sandy loam near the Lawrence Expressway corridor, and that affects how you set your posts. He’s certified in welding and structural steel, and he keeps a soil probe in his truck that he’s used on maybe four hundred jobs. Off hours, he rebuilds vintage motorcycles and applies the same tolerance obsession to both.
Dana K., Service Coordinator
Dana answers the phone when you call (669) 900-1904, and she’s the one who makes sure you’re talking to a human at any hour, not a menu tree. She’s been with us since 2021 and she knows which technician has worked on your brand of operator before, which matters when you’ve got a FAAC 415 or a Viking G-5 that needs someone who’s seen the specific fault code. She schedules around Sunnyvale’s traffic patterns, she texts you the technician’s name and photo before dispatch, and she keeps the photo records organized so we can pull up your gate’s history in thirty seconds. She grew up in the Bay Area and still lives ten minutes from downtown Sunnyvale.
Eli R., Apprentice Technician
Eli joined us in 2023 after two years in general handyman work and a certification program in low-voltage electrical at a trade school in San Jose. He’s our photo-eye specialist, which sounds narrow until you realize how many “motor problems” are actually a misaligned infrared beam or a spider web across the receiver. He’s learning the nine automation brands we service, starting with LiftMaster and Linear since those cover most of the residential gates in Sunnyvale’s older neighborhoods. He asks more questions than the rest of us combined, which is exactly what you want in someone who’s going to be working on your property.
One Standard, Every Job

The Haven Standard applies to every technician we send out, no matter who’s on the truck. Clause 1 means the written price lands in your hand before work starts. Clause 4 means you get a documented photo record of what we found, what we adjusted, and what we replaced. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers all of it. We’re independently owned and operated, not a franchise, and we’ve been doing this in Sunnyvale since 2014. The same standard runs across every Haven brand in California, but the people on your driveway are local, named, and accountable.
